US apparel imports surged in April from their low level of the Covid crisis last year. Shipments fell in volume terms from two years earlier. China's rebound in the first quarter has slowed down in April. Our report covers US apparel imports every month, comparing shipments from most origins in the last month and the year-to-date. Import data are available in volume, value, and unit value terms. Historical trends are analyzed over the 2000-2021 period, including cotton vs. man-made fiber apparel, China vs. Vietnam, and the Rest of the World (RoW).
