DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Carlos was located near latitude 11.9 North, longitude 124.5 West. Carlos is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h) and this motion is expected to gradually slow down with a turn to the west-southwest over the next 24 to 36 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
