DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Carlos was located near latitude 10.9 North, longitude 130.0 West. The depression is moving toward the west-southwest near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue for the next day or so followed by a turn to the west. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow weakening is forecast over the next couple of days, and Carlos is expected to degenerate to a remnant low by midweek.
