Polyester chain prices are slightly dropping in the current period, as a result of a decline in material costs and a lack of demand from downward textile producers. There is ample room for lowering operating rates in China in order to limit losses. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. All data are available for download.
