Cotton stocks have surged in India, pressuring Indian prices on the international markets. The Cotton Association of India (CAI) has accused the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) of overestimating the level in stocks, being responsible for the fall of Indian prices, therefore. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab).
