This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy. Cloud System Engineer 2025012 Job Description We are looking for a Cloud System Engineer to work as a consultant for our client ESRIN. You will join a team that provides Engineering support to the EOPS and PhiLab Departments in ESAESRIN by performing the following tasks Technical evaluation of proposals from startup companies, focusing on cloud computing and ICT aspects Provision of technical specifications and contribution to technical standardisation specifications Review of project technical deliverables and validation of technical capabilities Implementation of technical actions on ESA resulting from progress meetings Integration support with IAAS and PAAS providers Fast prototyping to support the definition of procurement contracts for innovation Support to PhiLab research fellows needs, e.g. cloudbased ICT Adhoc analysis of spinin opportunities before ingestion into ongoing or future projects Technical assessment of improvement opportunities across projects Technical support to ESA organised events and demonstrations Provision of technical input for contributions to conferences, workshops and communications Technical support in liaison with external bodies eg GEO, CEOS, OGC, etc. Required Skills and Experience Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or scientific discipline computer science, geoinformatics, etc.. 35 years of experience in cloud infrastructuresbig data Experience with programming and technical applications Fluent in spoken and written English Team player Proactive, autonomous and with problem solving attitude Desirable Skills and Experience Knowledge of Earth Observation context Knowledge of European Infrastructures DIAS, exploitation platforms, etc. Knowledge of OGC standards and interoperability Knowledge of business models in a platform based economy Experience in ESA applied standards e.g. ECSS Work Location Frascati, Italy Dates Application Deadline 11 January 2021 Start of Work February 2021 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
